27 augustus 2022 is het zover, wij, David & Elke gaan trouwen! Wij willen graag dit bijzondere moment met jullie delen. Voor ons is deze dag niet alleen een moment om onze liefde voor elkaar te vieren, maar ook een moment waarbij wij graag samen zijn met onze familie en vrienden om samen mooie herinneringen te maken (scroll down for english).

Wij hebben gekozen voor een leven waarbij we vooral mooie avonturen, ervaringen en herinneringen maken, waarin wij hard werken, maar ook om het leven te vieren. Daarom hebben wij ook voor onze trouwdag gekozen voor een unieke locatie in Nederland: Vlieland. Vlieland staat symbool voor mij, Elke, als een plek met mooie herinneringen – maar ook zien wij samen de Vuurtoren op Vlieland als een symbool voor licht in het leven. 

Wij nodigen jullie uit om deze dag, op zaterdag 27 augustus 2022 met ons te vieren op Vlieland. Op zaterdagmiddag zullen wij het ja-woord geven bij de Vuurtoren, en daarna zullen wij ons in de avond verplaatsen naar “Strandhotel Seeduyn” voor het diner en voor een gezellige avond. Ook hebben we aan de accomodatie gedacht, “Strandhotel Seeduyn” verzorgt de accomodatie. 

Cadeautip: Willen jullie ons met iets liefs verassen, dan hopen wij dat dit in een envelopje zal passen. 

Wij kiezen er voor om geen trouwkaart sturen, maar jullie met behulp van deze website op de hoogte te houden van onze dag. 

  • Hotel bevestiging: Wij verzoeken jullie vriendelijk om voor 25 juni 2022 per email door te geven of je in het hotel “Strandhotel Seeduyn” wil verblijven voor een kleine vergoeding. Als onderdeel van het arrangement verzorgd het hotel 2 nachten op het eiland, inclusief ontbijt. In het hotel ben je welkom vanaf vrijdag 26 augustus tot en met zondagochtend 28 augustus voor een kleine vergoeding van 100 euro voor een standaard kamer voor 2 personen (voor 2 nachten). Wij verzoeken jullie vriendelijk om de bevestiging voor 25 juni 2022 door te geven per email naar vlieland@islandevents.nl met het onderwerp “verblijf trouwdag David & Elke”. Mocht je specifieke wensen of vragen hebben tijdens je verblijf, dan vragen we je om contact op te nemen met het hotel. 
  • Bevestiging trouwdag: Indien je wel graag bij de dag aanwezig wil zijn maar niet in het hotel wil verblijven laat dit dan ons (Elke & David) even weten voor 25 juni 2022. 
  • Boot: Voor meer informatie over de boot (Harlingen – Vlieland) klik hier. Wij willen jullie herinneren om niet tot het allerlaatste moment te wachten om jullie ticket voor de boot te boeken. De boot kan online geboekt worden. Wanneer je naar Harlingen rijdt dan is het goed om rekening te houden met de reistijd dat je de auto moet parkeren – en wellicht een klein stukje moet lopen naar de boot. 
  • Vervoer: Vlieland is een autovrij eiland, op het hele eiland is er 1 taxi busje en een bus. Daarom raden we het aan om een fiets te huren. Een fiets is ook handig om weer terug te gaan van de trouwlocatie naar het hotel. Er zit op een paar minuten op loop afstand van de veerhaven een fietsenverhuur, Jan van Vlieland,  Zeelen Fietsverhuur, Fietsen verhuur Frisia. Het is zelfs mogelijk om je fiets alvast online te reserveren. 
  • Bagage: Het hotel zal de bagage ophalen bij aankomst van de boot zodat je deze niet mee op de fiets hoeft te nemen. 
  • Locatie: Klik hier voor de locatie van de vuurtoren, klik hier voor de locatie van “Strandhotel Seeduyn”. De vuurtoren ligt op 5-10 minuten fietsen van het hotel. 
  • Informatie punt: Bij aankomst van de boot zit er een informatiepunt (VVV) indien je meer wil weten over het eiland.

We are going to marry!

We would like to invite you to our wedding in the Netherlands on the 27th of August 2022. 

We have beautiful memories of the Dutch island of Vlieland.

Its lighthouse is a symbol of happiness and light in our lives and our future.  

Our official wedding ceremony will be on Saturday afternoon the 27th of August at the Lighthouse (Vuurtoren), after that we continue our celebration with a dinner and a small party at our official event hotel “Strandhotel Seeduyn” (Dutch beach resort). 

Information about our day: 

Hotel confirmation: We arranged 2 nights of accommodation at the hotel “Strandhotel Seeduyn”. You are welcome from Friday the 26th of August until Sunday morning the 28th of August. We ask for a small compensation of 100 euros per room for 2 persons for 2 nights (standard room) including breakfast.

We kindly request to confirm your plans by the 25th of June 2022, by sending an email to vlieland@islandevents.nl with the topic “guest registration wedding David & Elke”. Please also contact directly the hotel for any specific requests. 

Wedding confirmations: In case you do not want to stay at the hotel, but do want to attend our wedding please inform us (David & Elke) before the 25th of June 2022. 

  • Luggage transport: The hotel will pick up the luggage from the ferry so that you do not need to bring your luggage on the bike. This is a very common practice on the Island for all types of accommodations. 
  • Transport to Vlieland:  
    • Ferry: For more information about the ferry (Harlingen-Vlieland) click here. We would like to remind you not to buy your ferry ticket last minute since our event is still during high season. You can make an online reservation for your ferry ticket. In case you travel to the ferry by car, please make sure that you have enough time to park your car, travel to Harlingen (occasionally some bridges can be open), and walk to the ferry. It is not possible to bring your car on the ferry since Vlieland is a car-free island. To book your ferry ticket, please select “no-vehicle – only as a passenger” to get access to all ferry options.
    • Car rental: There are several options to rent a car. There are especially different car rental options from Schiphol airport. We encourage our guests to do carpooling, we will share a WhatsApp link via email to facilitate carpooling. In case you travel to the ferry by car, please make sure that you have enough time to park your car, travel to Harlingen (occasionally some bridges can be open), and walk to the ferry. It is not possible to bring your car on the ferry since Vlieland is a car-free island.
    • Public transport to Ferry (Harlingen): In case you travel by public transport to Harlingen (ferry departure), there is a train connection from Schiphol Airport to Harlingen or a train connection from Amsterdam Central to Harlingen. You can adjust the time schedule on the website, the best train connection is to select the connection that only requires travelling by train, for instance, the train leaves around 10.05 or 11.05 am from Schiphol or 10.08 or 11.08 am from Amsterdam Central. You can buy a paper train ticket at the station, however, the connections with the bus require a special card. Another reason why it is easier to travel by train.
  • Transport while in Vlieland – BIKES:  Vlieland is a car-free zone, on the island, there are limited taxies, and a public bus. Therefore it might be a good idea to go DUTCH, rent a bike (fiets), if you are mobile. There are several options to rent a bike on walking distance from the ferry on Vlieland, such as Jan van Vlieland, Zeelen fietsverhuur , Fietsenverhuur Frisia. You can make a reservation for your bike online. For the ones that are not mobile to bike, we can make other arrangements. 
  • Wedding location Lighthouse:  Please click here for the location of the lighthouse (we call this vuurtoren in Dutch), and click here for the location of the hotel “Strandhotel Seeduyn”.   • Vlieland Island Info:  You can find by arrival close to the ferry an information point (VVV – location) to get more information about the island. You can also find the website here

  • Dress code: Everything is fine so long you do not wear a wedding dress, please wear something that is nice but comfortable. Hopefully, it will be sunny! It can be windy on the island. For the ladies, in case you want to wear smart dresses or skirts, you might want to take the bus or walk to the lighthouse, since the island is a car-free zone. For the rest of your trip, be prepared that the weather can change quickly, the weather is similar to Chicago’s summer weather.
